The Nike Air Rift debuted in 1996, inspired by the barefoot running traditions of Kenyan distance runners. Defined by its split-toe construction and minimalist silhouette, the Rift was designed to encourage natural foot movement and balance. This Breath version updates the original concept with a lightweight, breathable textile upper and a secure hook-and-loop strap system for an easy, adaptable fit. A cushioned Air midsole and durable rubber outsole provide everyday comfort while staying true to the model’s unconventional roots.
